Setup and troubleshooting for authorized Bayan test users. The current public release remains in testing.

Before presenting

1. Connect to the internet and select the intended microphone.
2. Choose English to Arabic, Arabic to English, or bilingual mode.
3. Review cloud processing and microphone permissions.
4. Check the caption preview, size and colour before your session.
5. Start captions when you are ready. Pause or end the session when you stop presenting.

If captions do not appear

Check microphone permission in macOS System Settings, your selected input, the network connection and the app’s status message. The recognized speech section is visible only on the presenter screen.

If translation is unavailable

The app does not substitute untranslated speech for an audience translation. Check the network and status, then stop and restart the session. If the issue continues, send the app version and status message to support.

Changing languages

Use a fixed direction when the speaker’s language is known. Bilingual mode is intended for speakers who alternate languages. Arabic output uses Modern Standard Arabic.
